A Near-Empty Space is created using a large percussion setup anchored by Yamaha’s DTX700 electronic drumset, whose sounds are enhanced using Line 6’s Pod Go multi-effect pedal and DL4 MkII delay modeler.

North Indian tabla, Cuban congas, and vibraphone are integrated into the setup, with Ableton Live’s PUSH controller allowing for instant tempo modifications, changes to audio FXs, and live looping.

Yamaha’s DZR series powered speakers and subwoofer provide ample sound reinforcement which is needed to unify the subtleties of spoken word with the, at times, intense power of percussive sounds.
